The trampolines used in households for recreational purposes were built differently then those used in olympic sports. The commercial trampolines were less sturdy then those used in sports. Thus the need for extra safety precautions became evident.

The pole itself is surrounded by foam in order to prevent injury if it comes into contact with the jumper. Most of the net’s attach under the trampoline to prevent feet from being tangled in the netting and from being able to fall through. The cuff is covered at the top in order to prevent the elements getting to the PVC or to the foam surrounding it. The nets are usually UV ray proofed to prevent burns from direct contact with the sun. It also helps extend the life of your safety net.

A trampoline safety net can range in height from anywhere between twelve and fifteen feet. They are made to fit almost any type, size, and shape of your trampoline. Most commercial trampolines are circular, rectangular or octagonal. Most trampoline safety nets come with instructions but if there aren’t any, the internet provides instructions both in written and in video form. Most of the injuries from trampoline are caused by trying tricks that people are not trained to do and from falling over the edges. In order to prevent these or at least lessen them trampoline safety nets were invented. This nets of significantly reduced the injuries caused by trampolines but there are many other safety measures that can be done that will help prevent injury and make trampoline time more enjoyable for the whole family. Make sure that the trampoline is in a clear, level area. Trees overhanging the trampoline can become hazardous if a limb breaks while jumping and can puncture the trampoline causing dangerous holes in the trampoline itself. Buildings and other objects can become hazardous if they are hit or if an adventurous kid decides to use the structure as a jumping off point.
It is also recommended that only one or two people jump at a time. This helps prevent unwanted contact with others. A safety net is the best bet to keep children contained on the trampoline and keeps them from falling off. It is also helpful because it can help prevent overcrowding on a trampoline. There is padding to cover springs on the trampoline to keep children from being pinched by landing on the springs. There is also foam padding that can be attached to the legs of a trampoline. All these safety precautions are helpful and make the time spent on a trampoline fun and safe, but only a trampoline safety net is meant to keep everyone on the trampoline and prevents injuries from unexpected falls.
